New project aims to improve school

With the improvement of the school underway, sophomore Cooper Phillips set a goal to raise $10,000 for new water fountains and other projects throughout the school.

Project Eagle is an up-and-coming club that focuses on improving the aesthetics of the school.

“I wanted to start a club that I could give back to the kids, and everyone else in the school,” Phillips said. All students and teachers are welcome to help with Project Eagle activities.

Over the summer, Project Eagle held a pizza painting party where students painted a section of the hallway, ate pizza and had team-building activities.

Future projects for Project Eagle include painting more of the hallway, remodeling the bathrooms and getting updated water fountains installed.

Phillips decided to pursue this project after being inspired by the school’s annual charity week.

“It was really cool seeing us come together for Eagle Week to raise over $20,000 in such a short amount of time, I figured we could raise $10,000 over the course of nine months,” Phillips said.

Project Eagle meets every Tuesday at 3:15 in room 207 to further discuss projects, fundraisers and other ways to improve Harding.
