The boys and girls basketball teams faced Luther High School Tuesday night.

The boys came out of the game with an astonishing score of  91-59.

“It was a dominating blowout win,” said sophomore Ryan Cole. “We got the win and that’s all that matters.”

Along with this, junior George Price and senior Anselm Uzuegbunem set milestones for the team during the game.

“The game came easy and we got buckets,” said junior Brannon Dean. “All we have to do is lock up on defense, execute on offense and listen to coach.”

Boys’ coach Wade Wallace said he was proud of his boys and expects them to win.

“I’m out there to get rebounds and put the ball back in and get buckets to help my teammates out,” Cole said.

He also added that Coach Wallace applies many defense drills and cardio and conditioning to the boys’ practices to help them improve their game to help them win.

“We just have to focus on what we do,” Wallace said.

As for the girls, the girls took a loss with a score of 45-64, setting them at 3-13 for the season so far.

The girls have had a rough season but continue to look forward with determination.

“It was a challenge,” said sophomore Lauren Cole.

Lauren said the problem is with execution and teamwork. The girls play as individuals instead of as a team at the beginning of the game and only come together when they are already losing.

“We just need to keep listening to coach and work harder and make smart passes and plays,” Lauren said.
